My area of success is typically strength and endurance related. So many of the skill items in Crossfit are where I struggle. I found out today that there are at least 2 areas of strength where I struggle: towell pull ups and handstand pushups. I have never done either before, but today's WoD called for lots of both.
four rounds for time of:
400m run
15 HSPU
30 towell pullups (instead of rope climb).
38:49 overall.
There are lots of reasons (read: excuses) why I did so poorly on this WoD. Mostly, I just need to work on these two areas more. My goal wasn't for time on this workout. I actually just wanted to get through it. I met that goal, so next time I can push even harder and get a better time, now that I know I can do it. The whole towell pull up thing was an adventure. I had a hard time even gripping the towell on rep one, so I tied knots in the end of the towell to prevent sliding. I also read a lot of posts that talked about 7-10 reps per 15 feet of rope instead of a full 15. 30 total reps was tough
Man I want a long rope for climibing! At least to try once.
