The bear comples is 5 rounds of 7 reps of the following:
squat clean (or power clean and front squat)
push press
Back squat
Rack press
Don't put the bar down and no regrip on the floor. Rest as needed between rounds, but you cannot put the bar down during the round. This version was done for max weight with progression through 65, 95, 115, 135, 155. I completed the first 4 rounds fine, but the 155 was really pushing it. I completed the 5th set broken into 3,2 and 2 reps. Not the finish I had hoped for, but my overhead press started to weaken out of nowhere and I felt unsafe about pushing that weight over my head. I was ultimately able to finish, but now I have a new goal for next time: 165 (always expect more than last time). This was a great strength WoD with work on the mental overcoming the physical. It became surprisingly hard to not pause at the touch and go clean. My grip os shot and I bruised my low neck from receiving the bar from the first push jerk.
Then we made boxes at my place. We both have a 20, 24 and 30 inch tapered boxes. I am a perfectionist and I wish they would have turned out a bit nicer, but they are stable and secure and ready for finishing with paint and sanding. Now, I just need to work on my vertical leap. Maybe some day i can dunk... NOT!
