I plan on doing Linda, correction: Owning Linda, on Sunday. That means that the L pulls and rope climb would ruin my core for for 3 days, and would not make Linda a good idea. I still need to work on my pull ups, so I did the pull up ladder today at home.
This was a disappointing effort today. I was cruising along fine, a little problem with grip pain, but I was working through it as I went up the ladder in the low numbers. I still need to figure out how to best tape my bar to prevent all the friction with tape or slip without tape. Then I knew I was in trouble with I had to break up the round of 15. This was too early to have a problem. I made it through 16 rounds +14 in the next minute, but I was very disappointed at how quickly the wheels came off. Last time I made it to 18 rounds even, so this was 1 round and 3 pull ups short of my PR. I could blame it on my hands hurting, or doing it early, but it really comes down to a poor performance and not enough strength with pull ups. I need to get better with this, not worse. I guess I need to make sure I have a "pull-up heavy" WoD at least once per week. Add that to HPSU, OHS and snatches for the list of things I need to work on.
I did get a new 3RM for OHS today at 160. It felt manageable as I hit a groove with the movement. I didn't do a protocol, but I need to start that next week.
