Angie. I hate angie. Angie takes several things I am not good at and puts them together in high reps and back-to-back. Namely pullups, pushups and situps. I was still a little sore from the competition, but after a 2 mile jog the night before, I am feeling a little better. This morning was going to be rough.
I had a plan, though. Thinking back to my Tabata score, If I can break things up into a 20/10 time scheme, I can get a lot better time. So my plan was for 10 pullups every 30 seconds (5 minutes) and 12 pushups every 30 seconds (4 minutes). I planned on situps and squats being an attempt to go all out and as unbroken as possible.
Total time = 17:02!!!!
That is a PR of over 3 minutes from my best time. The pullups went great until about 70 or 80 when I added in some time by having to break the set of 10 up, but I still finished in about 6:30 (1 minutes less than normal). Pushups started great too with sets broken at about 70. I only added in about 30 seconds here with a time of about 4:30 (2-3 minutes less than normal) and a total time for the first 2 ex at 11 minutes. I took about 3-3:30 for sits, since they are painfully slow for me. The squats, usually my strength, started to hurt by rep 30. This was left over from the DOMS of the competition. I was so close to sub 17, but I know I can get it next time with fresh legs and a better plan. I am very excited to have a break through like this on a nemesis. I don't know how to do situps faster, but it may just be a weakness for me for a while.
