Yesterday I made up a version of the CFT that I missed last weekend. I'm pretty sure my numbers haven't gone up lately, so I wanted to work on strength training, not testing strength. So I did 3x5 for the same three exercises.
Back squat - 295 across
shoulder press - 135 across
Deadlift - up to 355 on last set
These numbers aren't great, but it was good for me to get back into more heavy lifting. I'm wondering if I should go back to CFSB a bit to get those numbers up a bit. I don't know how that would work with the classes at fury, but I would like to try. I may just do SP at home, DL on rest days, and OHS at home. That makes for a lot of extra time working out and not with the family, or doing other necessary stuff. We'll see how timing works.
Speaking of OHS, since I did BS yesterday, i did OHS today. This one is definately about more than just strength. It is about neurological preparedness. I got 202 at home on my set-up, but struggled today a bit. I worked up 10 lbs at a time and had one failed attempt at 175. I got it successfully, then did 185x3. I tried for 195, but only got 1 rep before getting wobbly and losing it. I had the strength, just couldn't keep control. I had hoped to get a new PR with it today, but I still feel good about getting in the practice. I would like to get better at this, as I think it would help my snatch and jerk.
