Christmas Early

So here I am psyching myself up for today's WOD. I have my rings and I am setting them up getting some looks from people. I have never used rings before at least to attempt a muscle up so I have no idea what to expect, I was up the night before searching "muscle ups" on the internet hoping to find some great explanation on how to perform them. Needless to say I am nervous, so.. I take the false grip on the rings lower myself into position and low and behold "BUST" out a muscle up!!! Now, do not jump out of your chairs as it was only ONE muscle up and the ONLY muscle up that was performed today. I agree with Josh my time will decrease significantly if I could manage to some how do more than one and not on the warm up.

That was the only good thing about the WOD.
3 rounds for time of:
50 Squats
7 Muscle-ups
135 pound Hang power cleans, 10 reps

I had to substitute ring pullups/dips for muscle ups and I had to use 95lbs instead of 135. My upper trapezius are not stronger enough to pull the heavier weight (especially my right) My time 27:20 not bad but I was shooting for less time (of course)I have a perfect place in my gym where I can practice the rings. I have to pick the right time or else I end up on the rings trying to dodge basketballs. As Josh mentioned in an earlier post I too find more things I need to work on the longer I practice this type of training.

P.S. The gap is not closing that quickly
