New Fangled Contraption

Today's WoD (for me) was Kelly
5 rounds for time of:
400 meter sprint
30 box jumps - 24 inch high
30 wall ball with 20 pound ball at 10 feet
My splits were
5:29, 5:47, 6:43, 6:34, 9:13, 6:09 = 30:53
For those of you counting at home, that was actually 6 reps. I thought my lap timer was counting the lap I was on, it was actually counting how many laps completed. Unfortuantely, subtracting the last lap alone doesn't reflect my real time, because I was a little late in hitting the lap button. Also, I was getting pretty discouraged that this was taking so long (imagine), so I would have undoubtedly pushed a little more if I knew it was my last lap. Regardless, by 5 lap split total was 24:44. Still a respectable time.

I had planned to work on all jumps, and not step-ups. I started off great, but a little worried at how high 24 inches is when starting to get gassed. Somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd round, I missed a jump and only jumped 23 inches. Needless to say, I now have a visible wound from Kelly. I had to pull up my sock all the way to cover it and hopefully stop the bleeding so I could continue. I then decided to revert back to step-ups, rather than shin splitters. I definately need to work on my explosive jumping, but this WoD was a little rough on the legs to start that project.

Tomorrow is Back Squats. I am thinking about spending my rest time between sets of 5 working on muscle ups. Is that counter productive, or efficiency? I'll let you know.
