What a Pistol!

I debated long and hard whether or not to compelte a WOD. I decided not to as my back still has a twinge in it and my knee still has that funny popping. So this evening I decided to take a good hour and stretch my entire lower body the best that I know how. I will tell you what that will be an everyday routine. My lower body is tight. I also decided I needed to do something physical. I decided to do "pistols" Primarily one legged squats. I did them on a stool so my opposite leg would touch the ground begore my femur was parallel. I did 5 sets of 10 on each leg. My legs are like JELLLO. Alot more practice before I am able to complete them parallel to the floor.

I have been focusing alot on my hips and my squat technique as alot of the heavy lifts and olympic lifts involve the hips in some form or another. I am working on the "active hip" motion and have discovered that when I squat I lead with my knees forward instead of my butt backwards like sitting on a chair. Hopefully the practice and awareness will lead to proper squat and strength.

I have made an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon who did my shoulder to take a look at my knee. I have always had crepitus in my knees but not this popping. It does not hurt just very annoying. It feels like there is pressure just medially to my knee cap like something is inflammed. That appointment is next week on Thursday.

Tomorrow I will try "Nicole" We will see how my back holds up with a run.
