What a Mess

Today was
100 feet of lunge steps carrying 30lb dumbells
30 box jumps at 24 inches
20 Weighted pullups at 30 lbs.

Okay, this one ended up being a great workout, but things went a bit goofy throughout the whole thing. First, I thought I would put 30lb in a backpack for the pull ups and use it and 2x15lb dumbells for the total of 60 for the lunges. Unfortunately, I SUCK at weighted pullups and the backpack only served to make it harder as it swung opposite my Kip and crashed into my lumbar area for the first 10 reps. Maybe with a vest I could have done more, but I ditched the backpack after 10 reps on rd. 1 and went with standard pups. The bar at the gym used to have tape, but it wore off. That made the smooth metal bar a bear to hold onto. I kept slipping off and was stuck with sets of 2 at the end. Not from fatigue, but sweaty hands and a smooth bar. My lunges were fine with the standby 30lb dumbells I had set-up just in case and the box jumps were all jumps, but I had a major malfunction with the watch. Instead of hitting lap time, I hit stop, but I didn't realize it until mid third round (I think). I couldn't rely on my lap counter on the watch now, so I completely lost count of how many rounds I did. My friend was about even with me, but I wasn't sure, so when I thought I was done but he still had one more round, I went ahead and did another round with him. I have no idea how many rounds, or how much time, but I know I got a great workout. My hands are getting into the hamburger realm again, but I am trying to watch my grip to prevent a major tear.
Tomorrow, the bench press and row. The rowers are very far from the benches, so I may go with the SDHP sub option.
