Rather than make up yesterday's run and pull up WoD, I revisited the SP, PP, PJ WoD for work on overhead strength. I have been watching a lot of videos on the jerk and PP form and I think I may have had a breakthrough.
First the numbers
SP 1-1-1-1-1: My previous 1RM was 155 in this WoD, but I have gotten 160 in my CFT. I went from an easy 155 to 165. I got stuck in the middle but got REAL close on rep 4, then I lost concentration for 5 and didn't make it. I am counting it as 160, because 155 was so easy, but I really wanted 165. Im sure I can get it for my next CFT.
PP 3-3-3-3-3 My previous was 165 and I sailed right by that to 175. I felt great with a more vertical dip and drive and I was able to feel even better as I dipped a little lower when it got heavier. New PR.
PJ 5-5-5-5-5. Previous PR was 155. Today....170. PR by 15 lbs. I couldn't have gotten another pound on that bar today, but next time I'll kill it. My redip is getting better (not 'there' yet, but closer) and my agressive lockout is better. BTW, my 1RM for the jerk is 175, so I am excited to try a 1RM soon. I still need to get comfortable with the dip, full extension and redip, but my neuro system is getting the hang of it.
I will do FGB with some friends on Saturday morning, so I don't want to do too much in the days before. I really want >300, so I am going into this focused and ready. I'm not sure what tomorrow will be for a WoD, but it won't be so intense as to limit my FGB score.
