I had a Saturday off with time to spare, so i decided to do a major WoD.
2009 Games Chipper

First, i am just glad to have finished this WoD. The average time for the competitors was about 24 minutes and the slowest was 27 with only a couple DNF. While my time was not games worthy, I did have a couple of hang ups. On the 11th rep of the first movement (cleans) i tweaked my back. I quickly decided to keep going and protect my back the whole time. That definitely limited my speed on cleans and thrusters as well as overhead lunges and burpees. I had to slow my pace a bit to make sure i wasn't going to injure it further. As I type this, My back has a very tight spot that I will have to attend to later. *** the muscle ups, oh the muscle ups. I wasted 1:47 trying to get some only to give up with too much sweat on my hnds and realizing I should have taped my wrists. i think I need to retape my rings. Even without wrist tape I used to get 2 or 3 easily, now I just slide off t the bottom. I probably could have gotten them in 3-4 minutes if I could keep a false grip. Next time, I want to get all of the muscle ups and do everything in under 30 minutes. Doing this after an AMRAP and max rep of snatch is unbelievable. those athletes are amazing. maybe I'll try this again in a month or two.
