Today was the Cindy/Mary decision. I alternate each time, so it was mary today. I hate Mary. But I need to work on HSPU, as always.
I roped Aubri into helping spot me this time so I could do all HSPU as kick-ups. I got 7 rounds plus 3 HSPU in 20 minutes. I got 5 rounds in 11 minutes when the pullups slowed a bit and the HSPU became 2-1-1-1. The rest in between took too much time but if I kick up too soon I can't even get one and i've wasted time and energy. My PR is 8 rds but with walk-ups. Doing it that way lets me cheat as my hands get farther from the wall and HSPU become incline pushups. Aubri's help was absolutely necessary as i was able to focus just on the push and not worry about the balance. For this WoD it helped. I know I need to master both, but this was a way to scale it just a little. I also refused to shorten ROM to an abmat for this WoD and only one rep wasn't full lock out at the top (poor communication with spotter). So, while it isn't a PR, I am closer to as Rx on this WoD and I am making progress on HSPU. Tomorrow night WILL be a PR on the thruster, clean, SDHP WoD. It is right up my alley.
My warm up was 3 rounds of 10 box jumps to 37 inches, 10 GHD situps (you gotta come over and try 'em Jason) 10 ring dips and work on back levers. It is fun to really mix up the warm-ups and get creative.
Aubri did her own WoD that I helped create. She just did Cindy a week or two ago and she wanted a run.
3 rds for time
400m run
30 box jumps to 20"
15 PP @65 lbs
I don't know her time right now but she is getting a lot better at form and maintaining intensity.
