The Wheels Fell Off

Ryan:
5 rds for time of
7 muscle ups
21 burpees with jump terminating 12 inches above highest standing reach.

Lets start with the fact that I had to touch an open palm to the ceiling of my garage for a full 12 inch jump. In order to not break my wrist I had to tone down my intensity and speed a touch, but that wasn't my problem. During the last Nasty Girls I got 6 straight mups and on 30 mups for time I put together 3 and 4 2x each. Today, it just wasn't there. I was trying to make sure I was at rock bottom with full extension, and I kept losing my false grip. When it did stick, I couldn't get my pull/kip timed right. The first tound took me 3:30-ish because I could not get my rhythm with the muscle ups. then, instead of the lap timer, I hit the stop button. I didn't realize until the 2nd round ended, but I kept going with a quick check of the clock to guage my general time. Throughout the whole thing, mups just were not clicking. Either my previous muscle ups were not at full extension in the bottom, or I just didn't have it last night. I began to slow on my burpees a bit. Partly because of the overall tax and partly because I knew I wasn't going to get a good time in general. In the end, I think my time was somewhere between 25 and 28 minutes. I am disappointed in this, but I did notice on the main site blog that this was a pretty common time. Mups seem to be something that can go FAST for some guys and slow for others, with few times in the middle. I think when this session of CFSB is done I will switch to CFGB (gymnastics bias) to work on some areas of real need.
