Today we did Helen.
3 rds
400m run
21 KBS @ 1.5 pood
12 pullups
9:23
Previous PR was 9:49
I definately made progress on this WoD, but I am very disappointed that I didn't go sub 9 minutes. I was moving along great in the run and swings, but my first pullup set felt a bit shakey on the grip. I didn't get my splits because I forgot to start my watch, but I finished round one in 2:20-ish (peter called out times) and round 2 at the 5:30-ish mark. What got me was the pullups. Everything else was going great, but my grip was totally shot from angie 2 days earlier. I hadn't thought about it, but that killed my forearms for this WoD. By round 2 the pullups were in 2 or 3 sets and the third round was 3 or 4 sets. I was getting MAD as I kept falling off the bar and getting back on. I was truly falling off the bar as my grip failed. At 12 reps/rd, I should NEVER struggle to complete unbroken. I just couldn't stay on. I know I could have gone sub 9 if my grip was fresh, but I still should have been able to get farther along without that much difficulty. I guess I have a new goal for the next time. BTW: swings with KBs are a lot different than with dumbells. My hands don't both fit in the handle, so the grip is different and the weight is all out past my hands. 2 pood will be interesting.
