Today was 7x1 snatch. We started with the burgner warm-up x2. Then Peter told us that we should get started because he has a 'finisher' for us today. I worked up to 95 lbs on 3 sets, then worked my way up to 155lbs, taking 2 reps at 135 and 155 to catch in a full squat. Not all reps were pretty, and I never did get 155 in a full squat, but it was a good improvement for me (up by 20 pounds). During my reps, Peter gave me the following pointers that I need to work on: Stay more active in the shoulders in the landing, and push my knees out over my toes. Both of these are at the heart of some of my challenging lifts and moves, and I started to get more active with these cues. I have a long way to go, but I really felt good at some of the higher weights. I think my problem is mostly a mental problem with getting under the weight and staying tight with good position.
Then, we finished with
3 rds
15 hand squat cleans @65
15 wallball
5:37
I paused a little too much during the last round of wallball, but I was happy with my performance. I just need to ignore the pain more and just push. On Angie, I got stuck and couldn't do another pull up or pushup on a given set. Here, it just hurt. I can still move through the hurt. I gotta change that mindset if I am going to get some killer times that I think I am capable of.
