Pleasantly Surprised

On Saturday we spent time working on the Hawaii regional wods.
Nasty girls - 6:40
I was thrilled with this time, especially since my rings kept sagging and I even had to even them out once mid-wod. I could have gone a tad faster if the rings were stable, but next time I want to get closer to 5 minutes.

Then
150 DU
9 DL at 315
100 dy
6 dl
50 du
3 dl
6:51
It was amazing how heavy 315 felt when gassed. I made it through 100 du unbroken, then worked on managable sets of 25 with 3-4 seconds rest between for all others. The dl were actually a rest. I checked the results from the sectional and I would have come in third in both wods. Pretty cool.

Monday
1rm snatch - 185. I tried 190 but missed. I was very happy with a 20 lb PR and look forward to a BW snatch at 200lbs soon.

Then the Khalipa vs Speal wod on the main site today.
1 c+j at 155
1 round of cindy
2 c+j at 155
1 round of cindy
3 c+j
1 round of cindy
...
10 c+j
1 round of cindy
21:17. I wanted sub 20, but I just couldn't keep up the pace with the jerks. They felt good until about the round of 6, then my landing started to weaken and I slowed to not hurt my back and keep up form. I definitely want to do this one again, but I need to work on jerk even more.

I am on week 3 of the PTP program and I am seeing good progress. I haven't set any new 5rm PRs, but the movements of SP and OHS are getting more comfortable as the weight slowly increases. I may add in PJ after this week, or wait until done and restart with PJ and snatch
