First things first, yesterday was CFT with my friend Shon. I spent some time teaching him the movements. Nothing too technical, just working on basics and safety for his first time through. His numbers were 145, 90, 175 for a total of 410. Mine numbers were 365, 160 and 375 for a total of 900. I was so excited when I added it up. I was shooting for 900. I was a little disappointed that my DL didn't go up, but both of the others did. It will take me some time before I pass 1000.
Today was 30 muscle ups for time. I haven't done a muscle up in over 1 month because of the limitations from my PT. I wanted to get all 30 in, no matter how long it took. The first 10 were done in 5:20 and the second ten in a total of 12:34. Unfortunately, I forgot to tape my wrists before leaving home, so I got major torn blisters on my wrists on both hands at about rep 15. I kept it up for a bit, but the pain of hanging on that exposed skin got to be too much. I finished with 20 ring dips and 20 ring 'L' pull ups to round it out. I was bummed, but I definately felt that the repetition was good for my form. My misses had less to do with fatigue and more to do with form and concentration. I totally could have gotten all 30 in in under 20 min, but I couldn't quite handle the pain anymore. Then, I followed up with the recommended open blister healing strategy I learned about online. Iodized salt on the wound for 60 seconds. i tried this once before on pull up blisters and it healed in 2-3 days (instead of 2 weeks). So after 1 minute of screaming pain in each wrist, we'll see if it works again.
