So today was a shoulder day, which I am always hesitant about, especially overhead movements because of my surgery. Well I set my mind to it and made a goal before I stepped foot in the gym. The workout was to find your 1RM for push jerk which is an olympic overhead press that involves a little jump for momentum. You get 1rep for seven attempts to find your max (1x1x1x1x1x1x1) My goal was to at least push my body weight (144) So here were my attempts; 95, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145, 155. 155 was not the prettiest attempt and I almost lost the weight, however, I stuck with it and completed the rep. I am pleased with my performance. I must say people are not used to seeing olympic lifts as I was getting some weird looks from others. I have a long way to go with the strength and stability in my right shoulder and I need to work on my proprioception as well. I do believe that these olympic lifts integrated with functional metcon WODs will help in those areas.
Randy did not want to do a crossfit workout today, do not know why, is he scared????
