coming back

The shoulder is feeling great, but today was the true test. Push Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1. This is one of the Oly movements where I truly have no clue what I am doing wrong. It ends up being a push press with too much hyperextension in the back. I got up to 175 pounds today, but I know I am not truly dropping under the weight. I just can't seem to get it. I went through all 7 singles, then worked my way back down with sets of 3 reps, trying to work on form. That didn't really click either.

Afterward, since I had time, I also worked on Muscle ups. I started with my normal set-up on the squat rack, then decided to go to the higher basketball set-up. with more ability to kip, I was able to get a total of 10 in 6 different sets. That is the most I have done at any one time, so that kind of saved my discouragement fro this workout.

Seeing Jason post ont he 5lbs of gained weight brings up an interesting point for me. I lost a total of 30 pounds from start of working out through the end of January. Not all of that was time in Crossfit, the the majority of the progress was during crossfit. During February, I have steadily been adding weight again. I am now up about 4-5 pounds (depending on the day). My diet is not quite as strict, but certainly more so than while I was losing all that weight. I am either putting weight back on or, more likely, putting on more muscle mass. In either case, it makes some of the body weight things a little harder. I'm no Jason Khalipa, so I need to watch the total weight I have to move on some of these exercises. I don't have a plan, but it will be interesting to see where my weight goes. Maybe I will scale back a little on the total calorie intake. Maybe.
