Two great WoDs in a row. I'm supposed to have a rest day tomorrow, but I may push it to thursday to keep the mojo flowing. My warm-up was work on Turkish Get-ups. I learned this at crossfit coronado and immediately saw the benefit for core stability and shoulder strength. Today I hit a PR with those at 6 consecutive reps in R, then LUE at 45 pounds. This is a very taxing exercise and I struggle with the coordination in my L arm, but I got it done today. Then...
10 rounds for time of:
3 weighted pullups @45 lbs.
5 dead hang pullups
7 kipping pullups
post time and number of rounds.
20:24 and 31 rounds @ 25lbs
The last time I only made it through 7 rounds of all 15 reps with weighted pullups at 20 pounds until round 6 when I switched to 8 dead hang and 7 kip. Today, I got into a rhythm of all 3 weighted and 1-2 dead hangs unbroken, rest of dead hang unbroken and all kip unbroken. Part of the reason I struggled with this last time was that my hands were all torn and bloody. This time I used the taping from the Fury site and it SAVED my hands.
I am thrilled about this WoD and being able to complete it, with weighted pullups the whole time. This one intimidated me for a while, but now I know I can bump up to a higher weight next time and do even more. My bumpers should come in today. Add that to the clips I got yesterday and I hear Grace calling my name. Maybe that will be my 'rest day WoD.'
